The Form-World® database (previous Solution Number S-0183) is a relational “form” database. The basic element of the Form-World® database is form. A form comprises two parts : (1) A form background which is the actual look of the form if it is to be printed out on a physical medium, such as a A4-sized paper; and (2) A collection of data fields that contain the data / information of interest. In the Form-World database, form background and data fields are logically separated. This separation of form background and data fields makes it easier to create / edit / move / delete the data field than the case of a traditional SQL database.

The Form-World® database includes a number of additional modules. This solution includes two popular modules integrated with the Form-World® database.

• Form-World® PDF/XFA File Management Module

This module recognizes the structure of PDF/XFA files and imports the structure directly to become the Form-World® database structure, requiring just a mouse click from the user. This module also enables the mass input of PDF file data into the Form-World® database.

• Form-World® OCR Module

An OCR module to extract data from various types of documents with high accuracy and throughput. The user can define the scan zone in two ways : (1) Use the mouse to drag a rectangular box and extract only the data in the box. (2) Define two keys to signify the start and end of the scan zone. The Form-World® OCR module will search through the document to find these start key and end key, and extract data in the scan zone bounded by the start key and end key.
