We propose a one-stop solution that provides raw data capturing, 3D model generation, and online visualization of realistically rendered 3D model for heritage conservation. Different kinds of capturing sensors and raw data are supported such as camera image, LiDAR point cloud, or RGB-D data, and it’s compatible of stationary, handhold, robotic or UAV platform suitable for variety of use case. Surveying-grade modelling accuracy, realistic texturing and rendering, light-weight web-browser-based visualization platform make the solution capable for archive, exhibition, renovation and education purposes.

Hong Kong has 132 declared monuments and more than 1000 historic building with high heritage value. To protect and preserve Hong Kong's archaeological and built heritage, the 3D surveying record is a urgent demand for future proof of maintenance of possible damage or destruction. Currently, LiDAR scanning and image record is commonly used for digital record, but the disordered data and massive data size make it difficult to use, and building 3D model from raw scanning data is time-consuming and labor intensive.
Our self-developed AI aided algorithm that can help to convert raw captured data to 3D model with high accuracy at affordable cost. The structured 3D model possesses advantages of low data volume, easy access, and meaningful for engineer. We provide modularized solution from data collection to 3D model generation, and online visualization, with great flexibility. To promote public awareness, participants, and cultural tourism, we provide the realistically rendered 3D model and a web-browser-based visualization, which is light-weight and can be easily accessed anywhere on any devices.
